Christmas Eve Box Gift Guide

What’s In Our Christmas Eve Box?

I love Christmas, I really do, even more so now that I have the boys.  Any opportunity I have to make it that little bit more magical, I take it.  That’s where our Christmas Eve Box comes in.  I knew long before I had kids – thanks to Pinterest – that a Christmas Eve Box was something that I would definitely be doing for them.   I’m so excited that I finally get to do it!

The High Street seems to have cottoned on to this idea now and everywhere you turn there’s the same old stuff staring back at you.  I thought, why not look at small businesses? The items are so personal and  knowing how much time and effort goes in to making them, I think that we should shop small wherever we can.  So here is what will be in our Christmas Eve Box this year all courtesy of some amazing Instagram businesses.

Christmas Eve Box | Sweet Hearts Stationary

Have you ever seen a more perfect Christmas Eve Box?  I absolutely love it and even better it’s massive!  My one concern about getting a box for both boys was that it needed to fit stuff for both of them inside, a lot of the others I looked at I just couldn’t see how that would work.  Enter Sweet Hearts Stationary – this box measures 42cm x 28cm x 19cm – there’s probably enough room to put things for me and David in there too!  The engraving can obviously be personalised to say whatever you like, for example ‘The Fishers Christmas Eve Treats’ but I chose to go for ‘Connor & Mason’s Christmas Eve Box’ and I couldn’t love it more.   Isn’t the font just so Christmassy?

Christmas Eve Treat Board | Sweet Hearts Stationary

We’ve all the seen the Santa’s Treat Plates that have been going around Instagram for the past couple of years, they’re lovely, but I’ve always been so terrified that they’d smash or chip and then they’re ruined forever.  Plus it seems everyone has one of those now, so this year I was looking for something different, and boy did I find it.

Again from Sweet Hearts Stationary, this Christmas Eve Treat Board is stunning.  I actually can’t put into words how excited I was when I saw it; it’s personalised with the boys names so they can keep it forever.  Even better, as it’s wooden, it’s practically unbreakable!   The engraving on it features spaces for a refreshing drink, some yummy treats and carrots for Rudolph as well as some gorgeous images.  I can’t wait for the boys to see it!

Christmas Cookie Mix | Penny Black Unique

£6.50 for 10 Cookies | £10 for 20 Cookies

When I saw this on Instagram I couldn’t believe what a great idea it was.  It seems so simple but it really does make the perfect addition to a Christmas Eve Box or would even be lovely as a little stocking filler.  I’m adding ours to our box in the hope that I might be able to get my bakers hat on and make some cookies with Connor so that he can leave them out for Santa.

We have Santa’s Cookie Mix which makes delicious cranberry and white chocolate cookies  but there are 2 other jars available.  Reindeer Cookie Mix which makes oaty raisin cookies flavoured with vanilla pod and the Elf Cookie Mix which is a soft, chewy cookie mix filled and topped with smarties in classic elf colours.  Each mix comes packaged beautifully in a mason jar with a bow, bell and pom pom along with a little tag which includes all the information you need to make these delicious treats.  I can’t wait to make these and have the house smelling of freshly baked cookies – that is, as long as I don’t burn them!

Penny Black Unique began whilst I was at home looking after my 2 little girls and project managing some MAJOR renovations at our home (never again by the way!!!). It all began with personalised name plaques for new babies, baptisms and birthdays and people quickly started asking me to make items for them. I was delighted to give it a go.

Last year I made some cookie mix jars for friends and when they started asking if they would be available again, I couldn’t wait to get started. Now my head is full of the possibilities for these yummy gifts, from personalised wedding favours, to creating an exclusive jar for a local charity.

My aim is to make Penny Black Unique a bespoke gift company, creating unique, unusual items with a colourful twist! And giving great customer service along the way

Christmas Dough Box | We_Love_Dough

From £12

Christmas Eve can be a long old day when you have over excited kids to deal with; we had our first experience of that last year and now that he’s older, I’m pretty sure it can only get worse!  Finding little activities that the kids can do by themselves throughout the day seems like a no brainer – they’re entertained for a bit and you can get some last minute jobs done, win win, right?  This product from the lovely We Love Dough is absolutely perfect for this.  This Christmas Dough  Box comes with so many little bits and bobs to keep little hands entertained – the dough even smells like Christmas.  It’s both sensory and imaginative play all in one lovely little box, just think what the kids could create out of all those little pieces!

Run by an early years teacher and a Mum of 3 young children who has a passion for play dough.  I started making play dough kits as presents for my friends children and they proved so popular I decided to start selling them.  They are designed for children aged 3 and above because of the loose parts.  All kits contain handmade scented play dough and a variety of loose parts perfect for sparking little imaginations!  I sell a wide variety of themed boxes and also welcome custom orders.

Personalised Santa Letter Package | Munchkin Mail

Instagram      Etsy

I got Connor a letter from the Easter Bunny earlier this year from this company and couldn’t believe the quality.  When I saw that they had a Letter to Santa I couldn’t not have one!  This isn’t just a letter from the Big Man, this is all the magic of Christmas wrapped up in one little package complete with a wax seal (I cannot express just how much I love the wax seals!).  The letters just scream luxury and it’s exactly what I would imagine a letter from Santa would look like.

The Reindeer Food and Ticket for the Polar Express are the perfect little extras and just make the whole thing more magical – if that’s at all possible!  Every little detail is considered, from the use of Christmas themed stamps on the envelope to the wax seal on the back – have I mentioned that part already?  If you haven’t already got your little ones a letter from Santa Claus then I couldn’t recommend Munchkin Mail more, from start to finish they are quick, professional and more than worth the money.

I added the food and bells to the package after the first launch of the letter just to add that extra bit of magic.  I pride myself on using more expensive papers and waxes so people get a high quality item.

Santas Magic Key |  From Wood With Love

Instagram      Etsy

Can you tell I’m loving having everything personalised with both boys names this year?  I thought this little wooden magic key matched the box and the treat plate perfectly and again this is something that we can keep and bring out every year.  We moved house this year and our new house doesn’t have a fireplace.  Connor is already a bit concerned about how Santa is going to visit us – I can’t wait to see his little face when we show him this.  The quality is amazing and I just love how the key itself looks like something that Santa would own.  I’m all about all these little touches that add to the magic.

We are a new, small family business who offer a range of personalised, handcrafted wooden gifts for all occasions.

Personalised Christmas Pillowcase | Periwinkles

Instagram    Facebook

I have never seen a pillowcase personalised especially for Christmas before and I couldn’t believe how amazing this looked.  It’s even better in person; it’s so, so soft and the writing is glittery so when the light hits it, it sparkles and looks completely magical.  Connor will adore having this on his bed on Christmas Eve and probably every night afterwards!

I started Periwinkles after my Dad passed away, I needed something to keep my mind occupied.  My name is Perrie and Periwinkles is what my Dad always called me.  I started selling small – to friends and family – and expanded through my Facebook page.  I can personalise practically anything to any specification from clothing to frames to gifts for anyone.  A touch of glitter is very popular on my products.

Personalised Believe Christmas Pyjamas | With Love From Joey-James

Instagram      Website

Would you just look at these pyjamas?  Aren’t they just stunning?  The past few years I’ve just bought Connors Christmas pyjamas from somewhere on the High Street but when I came across these I knew they just had to be included in this guide.  The writing is available in a few different colours, some glittery and some plain and they are available in sizes 6-12 months right the way up to age 5-6.  The cut off for ordering these beauties is the 3rd of December so I’d get my order in quickly if I was you!

Personalised Believe Pyjamas are £15 a pair and come in sizes from 6-12 months up to 5-6years.  Perfect for your Christmas Eve Boxes.

Hot Chocolate Kit | Little Party Favours

From £1.50

Instagram      Facebook

Last year in Connors Christmas Eve Box I’d included some hot chocolate and a new mug for him but of course, me being me, I forgot the marshmallows – and don’t think Connor didn’t notice!  So the year I’ve found the ideal solution; this Hot Chocolate Cone comes with everything you could possibly wish to have in a warm cup of hot chocolate – there’s even a little candy cane!  No more forgetting the marshmallows for me, hopefully that’ll be me off the hook!

Mum to two boys aged 5 and 3 and it all started by me making personalised crayons for them and then for family members birthdays.  I set up my crayon Facebook and Instagram pages just in time for Easter and got a lot of interest in my personalised activity packs.  The cones were the same, I’ve always made my own goodies for my little boys birthdays and other Mums would ask where I got them made.  It took a while for me to set up social media for the cones as I was so busy with the crayons but I’ve finally done it.

Well, that’s everything I’ve found from small businesses to include in our Christmas Eve Box.  I really can’t wait for Christmas this year and hope I’ve given you some ideas as to what you could add to your boxes!

*I was very kindly gifted some of these products for the purposes of this guide, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
